Children’s Creative Tent at the Trumbull Arts Festival
Each year at the September Trumbull Arts Festival we host a creative tent featuring several different arts and crafts projects for kids of all ages. We offer this at no charge to the community. We even have a photo booth with a fall theme for parents to take photos of their kids with their completed projects.
Halloween and Holiday House decorating contest
We run annual Halloween and Holiday House decorating contests. There are 3 winners who will get a sign to put in their front yards indicating that they are a winner.
Community Shred-It Event
Trumbull Community Women hosts safe, secure and confidential document shredding events at the Nature and Arts Center, 7115 Main Street, Route 25, Trumbull. Donations will be welcome. We offer this service twice a year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall.
Veterans Day
The annual Veterans Day breakfast reception is held annually at Trumbull High School to honor the service of all our local Veterans.
Letters from Santa
Trumbull Community Women offers personalized letters from Santa. There are 14 different letters available so each child in the same family can receive a different letter. Each letter will be written on special holiday paper and will have a stamp that says from the “North Pole.” The letters will arrive the week before Christmas. Check back for more information.
Valentine’s Day
In honor of Valentine’s Day and Heart Health Awareness, we recognize a public provider of health services in Trumbull. In past years, we have recognized the Trumbull Health Department, Trumbull EMS and nurses at St. Vincent’s Hospital during the pandemic.
Tidy-Up Trumbull
TCW organizes groups such as businesses, local residents, civic groups and other organizations to clean up various areas of town such as parks, parking lots and roadsides. Usually the event is in April around Earth Day. Projects are held on a Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until noon capped off by a celebration for volunteers from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Twin Brooks Park Pavilion. Groups may work on other days if they wish. TCW works with the Parks Dept. to guarantee success for the whole project. We provide garbage bags (and work gloves when available).
TCW Sheila Hayes Memorial Scholarship
The Trumbull Community Women scholarship has been renamed the Sheila Hayes Memorial Scholarship in honor of our dear departed member. We are looking for a female high school senior with demonstrated service to others to be awarded the scholarship.
The winner of the scholarship will be awarded $2000, half of which will be awarded after successful completion of the first semester and the remainder will be paid after completion of their freshman year.
